Four minutes of edited police audio of the EZ Mart shooting and search which started around 9:20 pm Friday, May 11, 2012.

Click the audio for the story, but it appears that the clerk was shot twice in the foot and is alive.  A witness followed the suspects downtown and fed information to the police who conducted a manhunt in the Governor’s Mansion area. It’s unclear if any suspects were caught. A friend on Louisiana street tells me that a policeman asked him if he’d seen a man in a green shirt running down the street in handcuffs. Not sure what that’s about. More info here.

This happened at the Arkansas State Hospital a while back, as far as you know. I make no claim to this tale’s accuracy, but “You can’t make this stuff up” as the Bible says.

There was a computer glitch and the steel doors that hold back all the habitual sex offenders burst open and about two hundred level-4 violent sexual predators poured into the streets and charged northward. About twenty of them died immediately while crossing Markham street; getting hit by runaway cement trucks but the remaining 180 offenders fondled their way north, to freedom.

Upon arriving at the edge of Arkansas River, they lunged into the filthy water like lemmings. A hundred drowned instantly but their floating corpses clung together as if they were gruesome, oversized Rice Crispies, forming a raft which the survivors clambered upon, like a bunch of fire-ants.

It was on this raft that the men climbed upon one another, forming fleshy stalagmites which leaned and grew into each other culminating in a gothic spire with the most depraved men at the spire’s tip. These madmen contorted themselves into a twisted human sculpture of mental disease; a sculpture which was now slowly drifting toward North Little Rock. Innocent onlookers on the awaiting riverbank reeled in terror as the nightmare crept closer.  (I’m surprised Max didn’t mention this in his blog.) Anyway, horrified spectators fled the riverwalk after witnessing the men writhing and struggling for carnal dominance within the abomination, which itself transformed into other familiar architectural shapes from moment to moment, such as churches and ranch-style homes. The raft eventually lapped upon the virginal shores of NLR and disintegrated into its individual components of psychopathic sex criminals, each of whom proceeded to offend his way further north toward the Argenta Farmers Market.

Upon arrival at the market, a shocked and terrified throng of doe-eyed gentry scattered like blackbirds, leaving only quaint troughs of glistening produce alone with the angry horde of sex criminals. Cantaloupes were the first to fall prey, but every manner of vegetable was subject to an unspeakable outrage. Sparing you the horrific details, within one hour the depraved creatures were all satisfied, sexually.

There is no record as to what happened next, but it is rumored that the men traveled west and settled down in San Mateo, California, where they prospered in dry goods.

Never heard of it? That’s because we recently changed our name from Hillcrest Youth because it generated negative comparisons, muddling public perception. Our new name brings a friendlier “Sesame Street” feel and has tested well with the demographic at Pulaski Heights Middle School.

Our goal?  To bring order and to cleanse the minds of people from Stifft Station to Colony West and beyond. Their obsolete beliefs must be purged and their psyches rebuilt with the aid of our once Forbidden Science. Soon, our beautiful vision will prevail throughout the Natural State as our enemies are crushed beneath the wheels of providence. The robed dispensers of writs and warrants will cede authority to the wielders of guns and shovels in land of E pluribus unum, it is our will.

Be warned, the city fathers and old men who cling to crumbling authorities will calmly assure you that the mere ravings of a megalomaniac can always be discounted…unless fate takes a hand. And like a child at the foot of a mountain cliff who is unaware of what enormity looms overhead, how many among you can not see that the hand of fate is already upon you.

People younger than age 13 may ask to join in our activities. If selected they may find themselves participating in recruitment drives, team building, psychological experimentation, forced marches, pedestrian interrogations and surprise inspections of uncooperative businesses. Many of our activities lead to a great deal of broken glass.

To all the parents in central Little Rock, look for us this Summer. We’ll be conducting midnight door-to-door recruitment drives on your block. And don’t bother locking your doors because we don’t have time to knock.

NOTE:  We have *nothing* to do with that Nox-something group that we’ve never heard of. You’d be wise not to look too deeply into the matter.

LATEST YOUTH DRUG CRAZE: Aricept……It’s normally an anti-Alzheimers medicine for old folks but kids are stealing it and getting some kind of high from this drug which they call “Grannies”. Popping Grannies is a popular after-dark activity for Hillcrest/LR adolescents and usually leads to frantic break-ins of homes in search for more Grannies.

Parents and school officials initially turned a blind eye toward Aricept abuse as it was widely believed to improve test scores, learning and memory, but the violent leering behavior of honor students proved too much to bear and it fell into disfavor by administrators.

I’m told that the high is accompanied by the usual Aricept side effects which are also mysteriously popular with the kids:

“Diarrhea;  severe dizziness; loss of appetite; muscle cramps; nausea; tiredness; painful urination; trouble sleeping; weight loss, swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue;  mood or mental problems, vomit that looks like blood or coffee grounds.”

Jim Sjodin’s murder remains unsolved a year after he died in his home from blunt force trauma and smoke inhalation on January 23, 2011. There are no suspects and police don’t expect to solve the case. — The house is abandoned now as he has no next of kin to claim the property. It’s in limbo.

These photos of inside the man’s home at 107 S. Valentine were sent to FH by someone with access to the house, which is still locked and secured. The exterior photos were taken by FH.

The incident was not known to be homicide until hours after the firemen arrived; leading to a contaminated crime scene making investigation/prosecution more difficult.

A lot of Busch beer was consumed in the house. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that.) There were also crushed Busch Beer cans under the house. I have no idea why.

At the end of the above hallway is the backroom in which Jim’s body was found. Presumably the fire was set by the killer to hide evidence.

Below is the media room at the back of the house in which the body was found; with books, music, videos and a couch.

Along with being the pianist at Highland Methodist church, Jim taught music in his home to young people. He also enjoyed the company of young men. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that). I mention these two things only because the killer is believed to be someone that Jim invited into his home.

Notice the odd scene below. It appears that someone rummaged the bedroom and began loading a suitcase with electronics, then abandoned it.

Jim’s car remains in front of his house.

This is a letter the City of Little Rock sent to Jim the day after he got murdered, telling him he needed to do something about his tore-up house.  More strange Hillcrest stuff. —

Oh, and I have *NO IDEA* who the killer is, in case you were wondering, nor will I be pursuing this matter further.

UPDATE: This guy apparently is not the guy who robbed Regions or First Security but allegedly is the suspect in the Allied Bank robbery. The suspect in the yesterday’s Regions Bank robbery has been caught.

UPDATE: He was arrested Friday, Nov. 4 and allegedly confessed.
